Jammu, May 3 (UNI) The Pakistan Army continued violating the ceasefire by firing unprovoked on the Line of Control in parts of Jammu and Kashmir.
The defence spokesman here on Saturday morning said that during the night of May 2-3, Pakistan Army resorted to unprovoked small‑arms fire across the Line of Control opposite the Kupwara, Uri, and Akhnoor areas of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Indian Army responded promptly and proportionately, he said.
Earlier on May 2, Pakistan Army violated the ceasefire by resorting to unprovoked small arms firing along the Line of Control in five districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
Pakistan Army posts resorted to unprovoked small arms firing from posts across the Line of Control opposite Kupwara, Baramulla, Poonch, Naushera in Rajouri and Akhnoor in Jammu districts, he said.
On April 30 also, Pakistan Army resorted to small arms firing from across the Line of Control opposite Naushera, Sunderbani and Akhnoor sectors besides in Baramulla and Kupwara districts of Kashmir division as well as across the International Border in the Pargwal and Ramgarh Sectors of Jammu and Samba districts respectively.
