Latehar, May 4 (UNI) Maoists torched eight vehicles of a mineral survey company late Saturday night in the Chandwa police station area of Latehar district in Jharkhand, police said.
According to police sources, the armed Maoists arrived at the site where CMPDI, a mineral survey company, was conducting a coal survey in the Torisot village under Chakla panchayat.
The Maoists opened fire and set ablaze two drilling machines, two cars, two pickups, and two trucks.
Upon receiving information about the incident, a police team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Vinod Ravani, under the supervision of Latehar Superintendent of Police Kumar Gaurav, reached the site and initiated an investigation.
The police have sealed off the area and launched a search operation to apprehend the Maoists involved in the attack.
