Kirti Varadhan inaugurates 450th Post Office Passport Sewa Kendra in Kushinagar

Kushinagar (UP), Apr 30 (UNI) Union Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh on Wednesday inaugurated the 450th Post Office Passport Sewa Kendra in Kushinagar, which is an important step towards making passport facilities accessible and strengthening the vision of good governance in the country.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister expressed pride to inaugurate the facility in Kushinagar, a land rich in history and spirituality and the place of Mahaparinirvana of Lord Buddha.
He said that this is not just an achievement, it reflects the vision of a new India where good governance is not just a dream but a living reality for every citizen.
He said, "the setting up of Passport Sewa Kendra in Kushinagar connects its rich heritage of cultural exchange and pilgrimage with India's modern global aspirations and reflects our tradition of incorporating the entire world."
Highlighting the transformative nature of the centre, Singh said that for a very long time, obtaining a passport was a journey in itself but today, any farmer, labourer or student in Kushinagar can avail these services without losing a day's wages or peace of mind.
He described this important partnership between the Ministry of External Affairs and the Department of Posts as a living example of two arms of the government coming together for the welfare of the people.
"Leveraging the vast network of India Post, Post Office Passport Seva Kendras have transformed post offices into centres of modern governance," he said.
The Minister said, "Innovative features like m-Passport Seva App, along with DigiLocker for paperless documents and Apply from Anywhere scheme have further simplified the process of obtaining a passport, reflecting the citizen-centric approach of tailoring this service to the needs of the people."
Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications, Dr Chandra Shekhar Pemmasamy thanked the Department of Posts for their support and dedicated this Post Office Passport Seva Kendra to the people of Kushinagar and reiterated the government's commitment to empower citizens through accessible services.
