Ladli Laxmi Yojana is wonderful for daughters, has improved state's gender ratio: MP CM Mohan Yadav

Bhopal, May 2 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that the state government has always been at the forefront of the welfare of all daughters, sisters, and mothers in the state.
The government launched the Ladli Laxmi Yojana on April 1, 2007 to encourage the birth of girls and secure their future, he said.
“This scheme is a unique initiative globally to promote girl child birth and improve the state's gender ratio. Under the scheme, the government provides financial assistance to parents from the birth of a girl child to her education and marriage. The scheme has received an overwhelming response, resulting in an improvement in the state's gender ratio,” he added.

Yadav was speaking on the occasion of Ladli Laxmi Yojana Day on Friday at the State Hanger complex, where he planted saplings with over 25 Ladli Laxmi beneficiaries from Bhopal district.
He emphasised that daughters are the embodiment of Mahalakshmi and Ashtalakshmi in Indian culture and that they bring joy to families.

The Chief Minister said that every parent should plant a sapling in their daughter's name and nurture it like their own child. He informed that since the inception of the scheme, over 50.45 lakh Ladli Laxmi beneficiaries have been registered, and 12.85 lakh girls have received scholarship payments of over Rs. 648.63 crore.

The Ladli Laxmi Yojana aims to promote positive thinking towards girl child birth, improve the gender ratio, and enhance the educational and health status of girls. The scheme provides financial assistance to girls at various stages of education, and a lump sum payment of Rs. 1 lakh is made to the beneficiary when she turns 21, provided she meets certain conditions.

The Chief Minister congratulated all the girls on Ladli Laxmi Utsav and urged them to pursue their education and strive for a bright future. The event was attended by Bhopal Municipal Corporation President Kishan Suryavanshi and other dignitaries.
