Maha: MSc student of DIAT commits suicide

Pune, Apr 22 (UNI) An MSc student at Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT) here has allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan in his hostel room.
The deceased was identified as Aneet Abhishek, a student of second-year MSc (Applied Chemistry).
On April 17, upon noticing his absence since morning and their repeated attempts to contact him failed, his friends went to his room in the evening and they found the door locked from inside.
On breaking the door, they found Aneet hanging from the ceiling fan. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, by the institute ambulance, where he was declared dead, said a Defence release here on Tuesday.
Later, he was transferred to Sasoon Hospital for post-mortem as per the protocol. His family along with police were informed accordingly.
The team of Nanded City police station visited the place of incident and seized his belonging and a laptop, mobile phone and tablet for further investigation. Police also found a suicide note.
Preliminary findings suggest that he was in a state of depression, added the release.
