Maha: Shiv Sena (UBT) MP takes swipe at CM

Mumbai, Apr 1 (UNI) A day after Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis ruled out retirement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut on Tuesday took a swipe at Fadnavis, questioning whether the 75-year rule imposed on other veteran BJP leaders like L K Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi was not applicable to Modi.
He said PM Modi himself has made the rule, according to which, no one should remain in a position of power after 75 years in his party.
He applied that rule to many prominent leaders including Lal Krishna Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, he recalled and asked is PM Modi beyond this rule.
Modi, who will complete 75 years on September 17, had to retire according to the rule he himself made, said the Shiv Sena (UBT) MP.
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh had approved that rule, that is why Modi had visited Nagpur to discuss it with RSS, he said.

Raut said that Fadnavis had said that the heir is not decided while the father is alive and pointed that this country has no father. Narendra Modi is the Prime Minister, and this is a temporary arrangement, he noted.
Citing examples of Lord Rama and Lord Krishna, Raut noted that just as Rama and Krishna left after their incarnation work was over, Modi will have to leave once his work is over.
"When L K Advani was alive, he was evicted, locked up like Shah Jahan. When he had the right to the post of Prime Minister, he was evicted like the Mughals and Narendra Modi himself became the Prime Minister. Did we ask then?" Raut asked.
"Narendra Modi is about to turn 75 and that is why he was called to discuss that. RSS is the mother organisation of BJP. Therefore, parents will decide," he said in jibe.
"If I have to tell CM Fadnavis about the importance of RSS in BJP, he is a fake RSS volunteer," he added.
