Maha: Various govt programmes to be organised on occasion of Dr Ambedkar Jayanti

Mumbai, Apr 7 (UNI) Various cultural programmes will be held on occasion of the 134th birth anniversary of Bharatratna Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar at Chaityabhoomi Dadar in Mumbai on April 14 and 15.
An official media statement issued on Monday stated that the birth anniversary will be celebrated with great enthusiasm through ceremonies, Bhimgeets, book stalls and special programmes at the Scout Guides Hall.
Sunil Ware, Managing Director of ARTI and Director General of BARTI, has appealed citizens to attend various programmes by greeting Dr Ambedkar.
This special week will conclude on April 14 with an equality rally on the occasion of Dr Ambedkar Jayanti. Also, he has said that the birth anniversary of Dr Ambedkar will be celebrated through various programmes.
A grand gathering of the Indian Constitution Amrit Mahotsav Week has been organized at the BARTI office in Pune from today to April 14 on the occasion of the birth anniversary.
Various social, educational and health-related activities will be organised during this week. These include blood donation camps, health check-ups, educational and health guidance for students, tributes to Mahatma Phule and Dr Ambedkar, recitation programmes, rare photographs and book exhibitions, the statement added.
