Hyderabad, Mar 23 (UNI) Mahavir Hospital and Research Centre, a 47-year-old multi-speciality trust hospital, inaugurated its upgraded Cardiology Department at Masab Tank on Sunday.
Developed at a cost of Rs 5 crore in collaboration with KIMS Hospital, the facility aims to provide advanced cardiac care at half the cost of corporate hospitals.
The upgraded facility was formally inaugurated by Dr B Bhaskar Rao, CMD of KIMS Group, and Patil Kantilal Subhas, Dy Commissioner of Police, South East Zone.
Dr Rao emphasised the need for continuity in trust hospital leadership and suggested a Rs 1 crore corpus fund, pledging an equal contribution from KIMS. He also proposed adopting the Kaizen model for continuous improvement.
Mahavir Hospital Chairman Mahendra Ranka highlighted ongoing modernization efforts in Cardiology, Pulmonology, and Gastroenterology and announced plans for a new corporate hospital to sustain the trust hospital's affordable healthcare model.
Trustee Treasurer Sushil Sancheti shared that Rs 2.5 crore has already been raised, with an additional Rs 1.5 crore committed through CSR and donor contributions. The hospital is also working towards NABH and NABL accreditation.
Several donors, including Gautamchand Dungerwal, Mahendra Kumar Ranka, Maya Devi Jain, and others, were felicitated for their contributions.
