Kerala: Man hacked to death by son in Kozhikode

Kozhikode, Mar 24 (UNI) A septuagenarian was hacked to death by his son at their house following an altercation among them at Panayi near Balussery in the district on Monday.
Similarly, the victim's wife had also been stabbed to death by another son about 13 years ago, and later the accused was hanged to death. Later, the father and elder son were only residing in the same house.
According to police, the deceased was identified as C Ashokan (71) of Panayi. Police arrested his son Sudheesh (35) in connection with the murder.
The incident took place in the evening, and the body of Ashokan was found lying in a pool of blood around 2000 hrs in the bedroom by neighbours.
Local residents came to the house after they noticed there was no light in the house during the night hours.
After the crime, Sudheesh was absconding from the house, and later Balussery police nabbed him with the help of local residents.
According to neighbours, Sudheesh, who is addicted to drugs and has some mental health problems. An altercation was reported between father and son in the morning. The Balussery police inquested the body and shifted it to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital for a post-mortem.
Meanwhile, Ashokan's wife, Sobhana, was also stabbed to death by her younger son, Sumesh, about 13 years ago. Later, Sumesh's body was found in a hanging position.
