Maoists kill munshi on Chhattisgarh-Jharkhand border, set fire to road construction vehicles

Balrampur, May 1 (UNI) Maoists killed a munshi (clerk) and set fire to vehicles engaged in road construction work on the Chhattisgarh-Jharkhand border on Thursday.

The incident occurred in the Mahuadand police station area, near Balrampur, where Maoists attempted to disrupt development work.

According to sources, despite a major operation against Naxalites being underway on the Chhattisgarh-Telangana border and efforts towards peace talks, the Maoists brutally murdered the munshi on duty at the road construction site in the village of Or Sapath. They also set ablaze a JCB vehicle parked there.

The Balrampur police have been put on high alert following the incident.
Upon receiving information, the police registered a case, sent the deceased munshi's body for post-mortem, and launched an investigation into the matter.
