Thiruvananthapuram/Hyderabad, Mar 23 (UNI) Telangana Panchayat Raj, Women and Child Welfare Minister Dr Danasari Anasuya Seethakka on Sunday emphasised the urgent need for systemic change and empowerment of Dalits while speaking at the Dalit Progress Conclave 2025.
The event, organised by the Kerala Congress in Thiruvananthapuram, was inaugurated by Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath R. Lekar.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Seethakka highlighted the struggles faced by Dalits, particularly Dalit women, and called for a united fight against social injustices.

Sharing her personal journey, she spoke of the challenges she overcame as a tribal woman, rising from adversity to become a three-time MLA and now a minister.
She urged the community to not only demand equality but also celebrate its achievements, honouring the sacrifices of past generations.
Citing historical movements from the Iyengar struggle to Nangeli’s resistance, she underscored the resilience of Dalit and tribal communities. She called for unity, mutual support, and government initiatives to uplift Dalit women, ensuring a more just and equitable society.
