Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, May 10 (UNI) In view of current emergency situation, a blackout practice or mock drill will be conducted in three selected areas of the city on May 11 (Sunday), informed district collector Dileep Swami and superintendent engineer of Mahavitaran on Saturday.
As per the plan submitted by Mahavitaran, this practice will be conducted in three different zones at three different times.
Blackout practice will be conducted from 7:30 pm to 7:50 pm, 8 pm to 8:20 pm and 9 pm to 9:20 pm in three different zones.
Meanwhile, this is just a part of the practice and there is no reason to panic. This initiative is being done to check preparedness.

Collector Swami and Chief Engineer of Mahavitaran Pawan Kumar Kachhot have appealed citizens to cooperate with the administration and remain alert.
They said that this is a practice and there is no need for panic.
After the siren sounds, the power supply will be cut off during the blackout period, the power supply from the inverters and generators in everyone's house should also be turned off and made dark.
The curtains of the windows of the house should be kept closed. Care should be taken that no light comes out of the house.
"If you are driving on the road, then immediately turn off the vehicle's lights, stop the vehicle and wait on the side of the road for some time," they said.
"During this period, citizens should wait quietly in their homes or wherever they are. Do not do unnecessary activities like roaming around, checking, talking on mobile phones or shouting at each other. Take care of the sick, elderly and small children at home. Stay close to them and reassure them. If anyone near you is sick, introduce them to this practice and make them aware of it," they added.
