Mudra Yojana has strengthened economic backbone of nation: IAC president

Pune, Apr 9 (UNI) Hemant Patil, National President of India Against Corruption (IAC) and OBC leader, today praised the Mudra Yojana, and said the scheme has strengthened the economic backbone of the country.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is always trying to build a strong financial system that meets international standards and norms. Keeping in mind the goal of social harmony, the 'Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana', which is being implemented by the Central Government to provide an opportunity for economic and social progress to the lowest strata of society, has completed 10 years.
He said the central government has disbursed more than 52 crore collateral-free loans worth more than Rs 33 lakh crore to the beneficiaries in a decade. It is commendable that the government has given 70 percent of these loans only to women, while 50 percent to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and other backward classes, thereby empowering them financially.
