Nitish distributes appointment letters, initiates Bihar Agriculture App, and several schemes

Patna, May 19 (UNI)Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar distributed appointment letters to the newly appointed 315 block-level officers in the Agriculture Department and launched the Bihar Agriculture mobile app, along with initiating several other schemes.

The Chief Minister distributed the appointment letters as a token in a programme organised by the Agriculture Department here on Monday.

The Chief Minister launched an agriculture mobile app to provide information to the farmers of the state about the schemes of the Agriculture Department, including the Kisan passbook, conservation of plants, market price of the crops, soil test, information about weather, and other new schemes related to the Department.

He said that Horticulture schemes were being run under the 4th agriculture road map to make agriculture profitable. The new appointments have been made for the benefit of the farmers.

The Chief Minister began the construction of the Agriculture Engineering College in Ara of Bhojpur. The college, which was approved under the third agricultural road map for strengthening research in the agriculture field, was being constructed at an expenditure of Rs 144.72 crore. A total number of 60 students would be enrolled annually in the college, which, in addition to providing teaching facilities, would also promote research in the agriculture field with a special focus on weather-related farming.

The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for 62 sub-divisional level agriculture buildings to be constructed at an expenditure of Rs 55.26 crore.

The centres would provide various agricultural services to the farmers under a single Windows system.

The chief minister flagged 20 campaign vehicles under Kharif Mission 2025. These vehicles would aware the farmers about the kharif season-related schemes.

While inspecting the Krishi Bhavan, the Chief Minister directed the authorities to install solar panels for generating solar power.

Later, Kumar said that his government initiated several schemes for the welfare of farmers and the 4 agriculture road maps have proved beneficial for them. The Chief Minister said that he was working for the prosperity of the farmers and to increase the agricultural productivity across the state.
