Arunachal Governor advocates for AI integration in governance

Itanagar, Apr 30 (UNI) In a bid to usher in a new era of tech-enabled governance, Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt General (Retd) KT Parnaik participated in a PowerPoint presentation on the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools at Raj Bhavan here on Wednesday.
During the session, the Governor emphasised that automation is imperative for good governance, advocating that adopting AI tools could significantly enhance efficiency in record-keeping, data analysis, and real-time planning.
Reiterating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) through the strategic use of technology, he stressed that Arunachal Pradesh too can progress towards becoming Viksit Arunachal by leveraging AI for enhanced governance and development.
Highlighting the advantages of AI, Parnaik pointed out that the speed and accuracy of AI tools make them invaluable for various administrative functions. While acknowledging the efficiency of individual departments, he pointed out the challenges in inter-departmental coordination and suggested that technology can help analyze, plan, and address these gaps.
The Governor also identified specific areas where AI tools can make a tangible impact, such as in anti-drug operations, real-time monitoring of infrastructure projects – particularly road development – and improving administrative oversight.
Drawing from his experiences during district tours, Parnaik urged the Ministers and senior officials to prioritize bottom-up automation, starting from the district level. He reaffirmed his commitment to promoting automation across the state, stating, “As an enabler, I will continue my mission to promote automation.”
The session was attended by State Ministers Gabriel D Wangsu, Dasanglu Pul, Balo Raja, and Kento Jini, along with Commissioners and Secretaries from the Departments of Education, Information Technology, Tourism, and Planning. The presentation was conducted by Abhinav Varma Kalidindi, Founder and CEO of IKONZ, Hyderabad.
