Compensation given to 57 employees died due to Covid during duty : Minister

Patna, Mar 3 (UNI) Bihar Water Resources Minister Vijay Chaudhary informed the Assembly on Monday that 57 government employees out of 59 employees have already been given the compensation who died due to covid-19 infection while discharging their duties.
Replying to a short notice question of Pawan Kumar Jaiswal during the pre lunch sitting in the house, Chaudhary said that the Finance Department had received a list of 59 government employees from various departments who died due to covid 19 infection while discharging their duties. He said that 57 have already got the compensation whereas 2 cases were still pending.
Giving details of the scheme, the Minister said that the benefits of this scheme were not for those who were infected at their residence. He said that this scheme was only for the Government employees who were infected while discharging their government duties.
