Odisha Assembly Speaker clarifies Congress MLAs' suspension from the House

Bhubaneswar, Mar 26 (UNI) Odisha Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy on Wednesday made a statement in the House regarding the incidents that took place after 12 Congress MLAs were suspended for seven working days due to their unruly behaviour.
The Speaker stated that although suspended members are required to leave the House as per the rules, they did not comply. Instead, they engaged in disorderly conduct, prompting her to order them to leave the House.
Following her instructions, the Marshal of the Assembly Secretariat also asked the suspended MLAs to vacate the premises. However, they refused to leave, continued their disruptive behaviour, and even rang the House clock, she added.
