Arunachal: 2 drug peddlers nabbed in Ruksin

Itanagar, Mar 29 (UNI) In a breakthrough under Operation Dawn 2.0, the East Siang Police arrested two drug peddlers in Ruksin. The accused were found in possession of 17.08 grams of suspected heroin, police said on Saturday.
Acting on a credible intelligence, the Anti-Drug Squad (ADS) of East Siang Police set up a surprise Naka at Ruksin during the evening hours on Friday. The accused, Dadi Ering, a resident of Napit, Pasighat, and Kamin Mekir of Diking, Pasighat, were caught during the operation led by ADS in-charge & Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Ayup Boko. The team included Sub-Inspector Igel Lollen (OC, Ruksin PS), Sub-Inspector Y Lomri (OC, Sille Oyan PS), and other personnel.
The search was conducted in the presence of the Executive Magistrate, Ruksin, in compliance with the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. The seized contraband was secured in the presence of independent witnesses.
