Agartala, May 6 (UNI) A rubber planter died and two others were injured after being struck by lightning in Tripura's Unakoti district on Tuesday,
The deceased has been identified as Gautam Roy (29) a resident of Radha Gobindapur village under Laljuri gram panchayat. The injured were Nepal Gope (42) and Tapan Shil (42), are undergoing treatment at Unakoti District Hospital.
According to reports, the incident occurred while Gautam and a few workers were engaged in work at his rubber plantation. Around noon, as heavy rain lashed the area, the group sought shelter in a hut in Fatikray area.
A bolt of lightning struck the shelter, knocking all three men unconscious. Later, villagers rescued and sent them to a local hospital where Gautam Roy was declared brought dead. And, the other two were shifted to the district hospital. UNI BB SSP
