Arunachal: 5 drug peddlers arrested, 93.15 grams of heroin seized

Itanagar, Apr 12 (UNI) In continuation of the fight against drug trafficking under Operation Dawn 2.0, Banderdewa Police has foiled two interstate drug smuggling attempts and apprehended five persons, seizing a total of 93.15 grams of suspected heroin in separate operations, Naharlagun Superintendent of Police P Mihin Gambo said on Saturday.
In the first operation, the SP said, acting on credible intelligence, the Banderdewa Police on Friday laid a trap at Banderdewa Check Gate and intercepted a scooter suspected to be carrying illicit narcotics.
Upon being stopped, the rider abandoned the scooter and attempted to flee but was chased and apprehended by the alert police team. The accused has been identified as Maku Rangmo (27), a resident of Bana, East Kameng.
