Arunachal: Police arrest 4 drug peddlers, over 113 grams of heroin seized

Itanagar, Apr 17 (UNI) As part of the ongoing Operation Dawn 2.0 against drug trafficking, the Banderdewa Police arrested four interstate drug peddlers and seized over 113 grams of suspected heroin in two separate operations on Wednesday, Naharlagun Superintendent of Police Mihin Gambo said on Thursday.
The SP said that the first operation led to the interception of one Dongja Kabak (39), a resident of Raga, Kamle district and presently residing in Nirjuli, at the Banderdewa check gate, where 30 vials containing 39.67 grams of suspected heroin were recovered from his possession.
The second raid targeted a hotel near PTC Banderdewa, resulting in the arrest of three individuals identified as Vikash Doley (26), Biswa Morang (28), and the hotel owner Makan Doley (50). A hidden cache of 55 vials (73.55g) of suspected heroin and a sum of Rs 14,060, suspected to be the proceeds of drug sales, were recovered from the hotel premises during the operation.
Both raids were conducted by a dedicated team from Banderdewa PS, led by Inspector Kipa Hamak and supported by officers from the 138 Bn CRPF, in the presence of Executive Magistrate-cum-Circle Officer Taba Milka and DySP Matin Ratan (Vice Principal, PTC), under the supervision of SP Naharlagun, and SDPO Rishi Longdo.
These back-to-back successes reflect the ICR Naharlagun Police’s intensified crackdown on drug networks, with nine NDPS cases registered across various police stations and 19 peddlers arrested in the past two weeks, Gambo said.
