Escaped from Mizoram jail, recaptured in Silchar

Aizawl, Mar 31 (UNI) Kolasib district police have rearrested Seikholen Khongsai (45), an undertrial who escaped from Kolasib District Jail, along with his alleged accomplice and elder brother, Ngamgin Khongsai (52), in Silchar.
According to police, Seikholen Khongsai was arrested in a drug-related case and was under trial when he escaped from Kolasib District Hospital around midnight on March 30 while his police escort was in the toilet. Following an intensive manhunt, police apprehended him and his brother at Itkhoola Point, Capital Lodge, Silchar, around 7:10 PM last night. After completing legal formalities, both were returned to jail Sunday.
Ngamgin Khongsai is suspected of aiding his brother’s escape.
