Bengal CM Mamata greets people on Buddha Purnima

Kolkata, May 12 (UNI) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday greeted the people on the occasion of Buddha Purnima and assured that her government is always active to preserve and protect the Buddhist traditions and culture in the state.

Taking to X handle, the chief minister whilst wishing her heartfelt greeting and good wishes on the occasion of Buddha Purnima, she also vowed to to preserve and protect the Buddhst culture and traditions actively.

The Trinamool Congress government led by Mamata Banerjee has declared 'Buddha Purnima' as a state holiday from 2017 onward.

Besides the state government's all offices and institutions, all nationalised and private banks and other establishments are closed for the day.
