Patna, Apr 15 (UNI)Nishant Kumar, son of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, asserted that Nitish Kumar will be the next CM of Bihar and there was no confusion on the CM face.
While batting for his father, Nishant told news persons here on Tuesday that his father will be the next CM of Bihar.
Nishant, the 48-year-old engineer son of Nitish and nonactive in politics, stepping out of the shadows, said that the Union Home Minister Amit Shah has also confirmed that Nitish Kumar will be the CM face of NDA for the upcoming assembly elections this year.
Regarding his father's suspected health conditions, Nishant categorically ruled out, saying that Nitish Kumar was fit and fine, and maintained that Bihar progressed
exponentially ever since his father became the Chief Minister in 2005.
Regarding the claims of NDA winning 225 seats, Nishanth hoped for a major victory for the alliance and said that it would win even more than 225 seats.
Nishanth however, avoided the questions about his plans for joining politics.
Meanwhile, JDU spokesperson Neeraj Kumar said that the statement of Nishant Kumar regarding the CM face of NDA for the upcoming assembly elections in Bihar has dampened the spirit of the opposition.
Earlier, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini by pushing the name of Bihar Deputy Chief Minister as CM for the next state assembly elections, had sparked controversy in the political corridors, after which the top BJP leaders had to clarify the issues. Choudhary himself had rubbished the statement, claiming himself out of the race. He stated that Nitish Kumar will remain Chief Minister of Bihar for the next 5 years.
The BJP state President Dilip Jaiswal had also ruled out any confusion on the CM face in the NDA.
The senior JD(U) leader and Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh stated that the Union Home Minister and top BJP leader Amit Shah had already clarified on several occasions that the NDA would contest the next assembly elections in Bihar under the leadership of Chief Minister Kumar.
Meanwhile, RJD spokesperson and former MLA Shakti Singh Yadav alleged that the BJP-JDU Alliance was about to finish, and the Haryana Chief Minister Saini had already predicted that the NDA would contest the upcoming Bihar Assembly Elections separately.
He said the BJP was fully aware of not getting even 25 seats if it entered into the electoral battle under the leadership of Nitish Kumar, and now the BJP was not in the mood to carry forward him anymore, who has become a burden for the saffron brigade.
