Rahul enjoys movie in Patna

Patna, May 15 (UNI) After giving a fiery speech before students in Darbhanga, promising them to fight for their rights, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi spent lighter moments watching a Hindi film 'Phule' in a Cinema hall of Patna, along with senior party leaders and intellectuals on Thursday.

Rahul arrived in Darbhanga earlier in the day for addressing students, and was stopped by the police, who told him the venue for his interaction with students had been changed. He was to address students at Ambedkar hostel, but the administration allowed him the meeting at Town Hall.

The Congress leader remained adamant and defied prohibitory orders. The Congress leader reached there marching for more than 2 km, leaving his vehicle behind.

In his speech, Rahul assured the students that he would fight for justice and demanded reservation for SCs, STs and Backwards in private institutions.

After hectic political activities, the Congress leader addressed students at a pre-scheduled venue

Ambedkar hostel. Rahul returned to Patna and spent lighter moments with senior party leaders and intellectuals, watching a Hindi film at a cinema hall.

Patna administration did not allow a large number party workers to enter the cinema hall despite having tickets for the show.

Hindi film 'Phule' was played for Rahul in a special show. The movie's theme is based on veteran social activist Jyotiba Phule who had fought against casteism and untouchability. Jyotiba fought hard against many social evils that prevailed during the pre-independence era. He had also strongly advocated the rights of women and raising literacy among them.
