Mizoram Minister explores Japan job prospects for Mizo youths

Aizawl, Apr 10 (UNI) Mizoram Minister of State for Labour, Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (LESDE), Lalnghinglova Hmar, has initiated talks with Japanese diplomats in New Delhi to explore employment avenues for Mizo youths in Japan’s caregiving and hospitality sectors, according to an official release issued on Thursday.
During a meeting held on Thursday, Hmar engaged in discussions with Hagiwara Ryusuke and Tsubakimoto Mayumi, both First Secretaries at the Japanese Embassy, to explore ways to send skilled workers from Mizoram to Japan.
The Minister highlighted Japan’s growing demand for professionals in nursing, caregiving, and hospitality, particularly due to its ageing population. “Japan has the demand, and we can provide the supply,” Hmar told the diplomats, noting that several Mizo youths are already employed in Japan under the initiatives of the LESDE Department. He added that the state is now keen to expand its participation in a more structured and substantial manner.
