Lucknow, Feb 25 (UNI) While criticising the Samajwadi Party's (SP) narrow mindset, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Aditya Nath said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government is committed to providing modern education to the children of the minority section, ensuring they are not confined to traditional madrasas.
During debate on the Motion of Thanks on the Governor's address in the Legislative Council during budget session, the CM said, "Instead of being limited to becoming mullahs and maulvis, they should have equal opportunities to pursue careers as doctors, engineers, scientists and litterateurs."
Citing the example of former President APJ Abdul Kalam, he said that the modernisation of education is essential for the progress of society. He highlighted that schools are being upgraded and free education is being provided, emphasising that the double-engine government is actively funding these initiatives.
