Biotech student commits suicide in hostel room in Jaunpur

Jaunpur (UP), Apr 2 (UNI) A 23-year-old student of Biotechnology committed hanged herself and committed suicide in her hostel room in Sarai Khwaja of Jaunpur district here in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said here on Wednesday.
Police sources said that Shivangi Mishra, a resident of Kotwalpur village under Jalalpur police station area, was studying in the Biotechnology Department in Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University. "Late on Tuesday night, while Shivangi was talking to her fiancee Akash when suddenly her phone got switched off," they said.
Police sources said that after that, Akash called Shivangi's friend. "When the friend reached her room, the door was closed. When the warden broke the door with the help of classmates and staff, Shivangi was hanging on the noose. She was taken down and brought to the district hospital where doctors declared her dead," they said.
