BJP govt deprived youth of full service in army by Agniveer, abolish it: Akhilesh

Lucknow, May 16 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav on Friday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government has deprived the youth of full service in the army by introducing the Agniveer scheme in the army and it should be abolished.

Addressing the workers and leaders who came from various districts at the state headquarters of SP, Akhilesh said, "We all are proud of the bravery of our army and the valour of the soldiers. The Indian army is the bravest and strongest and has accomplished its goal during every war. But the BJP government has deprived the youth of full service in the army by introducing the Agniveer scheme in the army. We all are against the Agniveer scheme. The Agniveer scheme in the army should be abolished."

He said that the dream of a one trillion dollar economy will be fulfilled only by promoting small shopkeepers and businessmen. "Nothing is going to happen with those investment summits which make promises to industrialists under the pressure of the government but no investment is seen on the ground and even if a few selected investors come, the BJP agents and officers ask for commission from them in advance, due to which they return disappointed," he alleged.

The SP chief said that it has also been heard that after the change of some selected officers, tenders are also being cancelled. "The wheel of development of Uttar Pradesh is anyway stuck in the mire of corruption and on top of that this game of commission. This is how UP has already developed," he said.

He said that development and jobs cannot be expected from this government. "The BJP government has failed on every front. It has lost the trust of the people. The people of the state are waiting for the Samajwadi government for development, jobs, employment and business," he said.

Akhilesh said that dishonesty, corruption and loot are at their peak in the BJP government. "There is corruption at every level in this government. BJP is a land mafia party. Its people are occupying government lands in various districts. They are snatching the lands of the poor. The law and order of the state is in shambles. UP is in the grip of criminals," he said.

He said that BJP does not speak the truth. "The public has understood the lies of the BJP. The lies of the BJP will only throw it out of power," he said.
