Chandigarh, Mar 4 (UNI) Punjab State Safai Karamchari Commission (PSSKC) Chairman Chandan Grewal on Tuesday sought the intervention of President Droupadi Murmu to end the contractual system of jobs for Sanitary workers by enacting a law.
In a letter to Murmu, the PSSKC Chairman has lauded her for taking several initiatives to safeguard the interests of the weaker sections of society. Drawing her attention towards the plight of poorest of poor strata of the society, he said that the Safai Sewaks have been hitherto ignored by successive governments at the Centre.
Grewal sought the kind intervention of President for safeguarding the interests of the ambassadors of cleanliness, the sanitary workers of the country.
