Pak nationals deported from UP following Kashmir terror attack

Lucknow, Apr 28 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh has become the first state to achieve almost 100 per cent deportation of Pakistani nationals within 24 hours, with only one remaining to be deported In the wake of the cowardly Pahalgam terror attack, an official spokesman said here on Monday.

The spokesman said that the last Pakistani citizen is set to be deported on Wednesday, under constant surveillance by police and intelligence agencies. "Pakistani citizens have been expelled from UP as per the directives of the central government," he said.

It may be noted that in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, the central government issued immediate advisories for all states to deport Pakistani nationals. "Acting swiftly, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath convened a high-level meeting with Home Department officials and other agencies. He issued strict directives to expel all Pakistani citizens from UP, directing police teams to personally escort them to the border to ensure their safe return to Pakistan," he said.

The spokesman said that following directives of the CM Yogi, all 75 districts in UP were placed on high alert and swift action was taken.

Director General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar said that under the CM's guidance, comprehensive steps were implemented statewide to deport Pakistani nationals. He said that 100 percent Pakistani citizens have been deported, with local police teams escorting them to the border. Only one Pakistani national remains, set to be deported on April 30.

The spokesman said that due to the stringent directives and real-time monitoring by CM Yogi, UP has emerged as the first state in India to execute such swift and comprehensive action against Pakistani citizens, ensuring their return with full verification at the border.
