Anantapur MP's sister killed in helicopter crash

Anantapur, AP, May 8 (UNI) Anantapur MP G Lakshminarayan Valmiki’s sister was killed and his brother-in-law was critically injured when the helicopter in which they were going to Gangotri crashed in a forest in Uttarakhand on Thursday.
Family members of MP Ambika G Lakshminarayana Valmiki told the media here on Thursday that Vedavati Kumari, the younger sister of MP Lakshminarayan, was killed and her husband Bhaskar suffered grievous injuries when the helicopter in which they were going to Gangotri in the Himalayas crashed.

Vedavatti Kumari, along with her husband Bhaskar, was on vacation, and the couple was going to Gangotri in the Uttarkashi region. As many as six people on board the helicopter were killed when the helicopter crashed in a forest area.
The injured Bhaskar was admitted to the AIMS in Rishikesh. The officials began rescue operations in a big way in the forest area and extricated Bhaskar from the debris of the ill-fated helicopter, family members of the MP told the media.

Responding to the death of MP Ambika Lakshminarayana’s sister Vedavati Kumari in a helicopter crash, Minister for Tourism Kandula Durgesh expressed grief over the crash and condoled her death. He conveyed his sympathies to the bereaved family.
The Minister directed the officials to speak to the officials concerned of Uttarakhand and ensure the best medical treatment to injured Bhaskar.
