Telangana IT Min. inaugurates TCS iON Placement Success Programme

Hyderabad, May 8 (UNI) Telangana IT Minister D Sridhar Babu on Thursday inaugurated the TCS iON Placement Success Programme (PSP) in partnership with Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), marking a significant milestone in empowering rural youth through targeted upskilling.
The collaboration between Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and JNTU, Manthani aims to equip final-year students and fresh graduates with the skills needed for entry-level IT positions.
On this occasion, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Prof. T. Kishan Kumar Reddy, Vice Chancellor of JNTU Hyderabad, and Smriti Mulye, Business Head Skill Education, TCS iON, in the presence of the IT Minister. The pilot phase of the programme will enroll 100 students, who will undergo a 20-week immersive training program designed to bridge the gap between academia and industry.

The curriculum focuses on building both core technical competencies and essential soft skills, preparing candidates for real job roles in the IT sector.
Additionally, the programme offers placement support through TCS iON’s recruitment platform, connecting eligible graduates with job opportunities.
Speaking on the occasion, Sridhar Babu said, “The recent drop in employability among Indian youth from 44.3% in 2023 to 42.6% in 2024, highlights a serious problem. Less than half of the graduates are prepared for the demands of the job market, which affects students, educational institutions, industries, and the government".
