Kerala: Two children drown in Valad river

Wayanad, May 5 (UNI) Two children were drowned in Valad Puzha while swimming along with relatives at Kadavu puzha check dam, at Mananthavady on Monday.
According to police, the deceased were identified as Ajin (15), a resident of Vazhhaplamkudi house, and Christy (13), residing at Kalapurackal house, both hailing from Payyampally near Mananthavady in the district.
The incident occurred at around 5 pm when a gang of five children, all of them relatives, went for bathing and swimming at Pulikkat Kadavu in Valad Puzha. Two of them drowned in the river while swimming, local residents rescued the remaining three from the river and rushed them to Mananthavady Medical College hospital, but doctors there declared two brought dead.
