Four killed, 28 hurt in bus-lorry smash in TN, Stalin announces solatium

Chennai, Mar 7 (UNI) Four people were killed and 28 others injured, in a collision involving a Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) and a tipper lorry at Peerakuppam Madura KG Kandigai village near Tiruttani in the neighbouring Tiruvallur district on Friday afternoon, even as Chief Minister M K Stalin announced solatium to the deceased families and the injured.
The accident occurred at around 1530 hrs when the Tipper lorry, which was proceeding to Sholingur from Tiruttani collided with the government bus heading to Tiruttaini from R K Pettai, police said.
In the tragic accident, four people, travelling in the bus, identified as Pandurangan (60), Sivanandam (53), Magesh (40) and Murali (38) were killed on the spot.
