Greater Bengaluru Governance Bill passed in assembly, sparks row

Bengaluru, Mar 10 (UNI) The Karnataka Legislative Assembly on Monday passed the Greater Bengaluru Governance Bill, paving the way for administrative restructuring in the city.
The bill, introduced by the Congress-led government, aims to enhance governance and service delivery in Bengaluru, which has a population nearing 1.5 crores. However, the move has triggered a political storm, with the BJP strongly opposing it.
Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar defended the bill, stating that it was not about dividing Bengaluru but about improving its governance structure.
