CBI arrests GST Superintendent in Telangana for accepting Rs 8000 bribe

Hyderabad, Mar 22 (UNI) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a Superintendent of GST from Medak in Telangana, for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 8,000.
According to a CBI release on Saturday, a case was registered by the agency on Friday based on allegations that the accused had demanded a bribe of Rs. 10,000 to reinstate the complainant’s GST Identification Number (GSTIN), which had been suspended due to the non-filing of returns..
The officials laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed while accepting the bribe of Rs 8,000 at the Office of the Superintendent, GST, Medchal Commissionerate, Medak in Telangana, on Friday. Following the arrest, the accused was produced before the competent court on Saturday.

Kochi, Apr 3 (UNI) The Union Ministry of Corporate Affairs on Thursday gave its approval for prosecution proceedings against Veena Vijayan, the daughter of Kerala Chief Minister K M Vijayan, in the CMRL payoff case.The approval is on the basis of the chargesheet filed against Veena Vijayan by the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) alleging that she received Rs 2.7 crore without providing any service to the CMRL.
