Telangana: ECI announces MLC elections, polling on March 20

Hyderabad, Feb 24 (UNI) The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday announced the schedule for the biennial elections to the Legislative Council of Telangana by the Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) respectively to fill the five seats of members retiring on March 29, 2025.
The polling will be held from 9 am to 4 pm on March 20 and the results will be declared on the same day in the evening aftger counting of votes at 5 PM on the same day, according to a release here.
In all, the term of five MLCs under MLA quota, including Mohd Mahmood Ali, Satyavathi Rathod, Seri Subhash Reddy, Yegge Mallesham and Mirza Riyazul Hassan Effendi, is due to expire on March 29.
