US-India trade and technology ties to strengthen: Dr Mark Burns at Global Business Summit 2025

Hyderabad, Mar 22 (UNI) Dr Mark Burns, Advisor to U S President Donald Trump, emphasised the growing trade and technology partnership between the United States and India.

Speaking at the Global Business Summit 2025, organized by the United States Global Commerce & Industry (USGCI) on Saturday evening at a private Hotel, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, Dr Burns highlighted key aspects of US-India economic collaboration, noting that both nations are working towards balancing trade relations through increased energy purchases from the U.S. and expanded military equipment sales to India. He predicted significant growth in bilateral trade by 2030, reinforcing the idea that a strong America and a strong India are mutually beneficial.

Dr. Burns announced two key initiatives—the U.S.-India Trust and Bishop Trust, aimed at fostering strategic technology partnerships, encouraging public and private investments, and expanding manufacturing and job opportunities in both countries.

He emphasised that these efforts will enhance energy cooperation, establish the US as India's leading supplier of petroleum products, and deepen collaboration in emerging sectors such as AI, semiconductor technology, and space exploration.

Calling Hyderabad the ‘Silicon Valley of India’, Dr Burns expressed keen interest in AI and technology-driven investments, encouraging American investors to collaborate with Indian innovators. He stressed that the U.S. administration is committed to reducing trade barriers, streamlining regulations, and building supply chain resilience.

“This is not merely a trade relationship; it is a partnership between two great nations that believe in freedom, innovation, and prosperity,” Dr. Burns stated.

He urged both nations to seize the opportunity to strengthen economic ties, foster technological advancements, and build a future of unprecedented growth and collaboration.

Delivering the keynote address, Dr. Solomon Gattu, Founder & President of the USGCI India Chapter, emphasized the pivotal role of responsible global commerce in fostering sustainable growth.

The summit also featured participation from distinguished industry leaders, including Dr. Srinivas Rao Pulijala, CEO of Apollo Medskills; Dr. J. A. Chowdary, Entrepreneur, Innovator, Angel Investor, and Industry Leader; and Deepak Khurana, Vice President – Procurement & SCM, Suven Pharmaceuticals.
