HCAH hosts roundtable to highlight the importance of early stroke rehabilitation in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Mar 18 (UNI) With stroke cases rising alarmingly among young adults in Hyderabad, HCAH, the city’s first provider with a dedicated Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR) team on Tuesday, hosted a roundtable discussion to stress the importance of early rehabilitation in stroke recovery.

Experts revealed that one in seven stroke patients in Hyderabad falls between the ages of 25-45, making early intervention crucial. The panel highlighted that early rehabilitation not only prevents long-term disability but also improves recovery outcomes through advanced technologies like AI-driven therapy and robotic rehabilitation.

Dr Naveen Mehrotra, Chief Neurosurgeon at KIMS Sunshine Hospitals, underscored the need for structured rehabilitation programs. "Early intervention is critical for ensuring stroke survivors regain independence and avoid permanent disability," he stressed.

Dr Aastik Bhatt, Leading Specialist in Neuro Rehabilitation at HCAH Hyderabad, highlighted HCAH’s specialized PMR team, which combines AI-powered rehabilitation tools with personalized care strategies to enhance recovery outcomes.

HCAH Co-founder and COO, Dr Gaurav Thukral, emphasised the organization’s commitment to making stroke rehabilitation accessible and affordable.

"Early rehabilitation should be a standard healthcare practice. With our AI-driven recovery programs and robotic rehabilitation solutions, we aim to help patients recover faster and regain independence," he said.

The event concluded with a call to action for healthcare providers, policymakers, and the public to prioritise early rehabilitation to improve stroke recovery rates.
