McDonald to establish a global office in Hyderabad, creating 2,000 jobs

Hyderabad, March 19 (UNI) American multinational company McDonald's has signed a significant agreement with the Telangana government to establish its Global India Office in Hyderabad, creating 2,000 job opportunities.

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy held discussions with McDonald's Chairman and CEO Chris Kempczinski and company representatives at the Assembly chamber on Wednesday. During the meeting, McDonald's signed an investment agreement with the state government for the new
global office.

Telangana Chief Secretary Shanthi Kumari, Special Chief Secretary of the Industries Department Jayesh Ranjan, and Special Secretary to the CM Ajith Reddy participated in the discussions.

The McDonald's delegation included CEO Chris Kempczinski, Global Business Services President Sky Anderson, Chief Global Impact Officer John Banner, and Global India Head Deshana Kaila.

Expressing his delight over McDonald's decision to set up its Global India Office in Hyderabad, Chief Minister said he was proud that Telangana had been chosen amid stiff competition from other states.
He assured the company that the state government would provide full support for the project.

The Chief Minister highlighted the state's recent efforts in skill development and recommended that McDonald's collaborate with the Young India Skills University to recruit trained employees for their new office.
He proposed that the university be used as a "skill zone" to provide trained personnel for both the Hyderabad office and McDonald's outlets across India and abroad.

Reddy also urged McDonald's to procure agricultural products from local farmers, emphasising that this initiative would boost farmers' incomes and contribute to Telangana’s agricultural economy.

McDonald's CEO Chris Kempczinski praised Hyderabad’s superior infrastructure, quality of life, and availability of skilled professionals as key factors in choosing the city for their global office.
He also outlined the company's global community development initiatives and expressed readiness
to collaborate with the Telangana government to implement similar programs in the state.

Currently, McDonald's operates 38 outlets in Telangana, with plans to open three to four new outlets annually. The establishment of the new Global India Office is expected to create significant direct and indirect employment opportunities, further benefiting the state's economy.
