Hyderabad, Apr 21 (UNI) Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Working President Jagga Reddy lauded the state government’s landmark decision to establish Cancer Screening Centres in Hyderabad’s slums, poor localities, and rural villages, calling it a much-needed step toward saving lives and supporting financially vulnerable families.
In a heartfelt statement on Monday, Jagga Reddy congratulated Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and extended his special thanks to Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha for spearheading the initiative.
He termed the move as a "wonderful decision" that will help detect cancer early and enable timely treatment, especially among poor and middle-class families who are most affected by the disease.
“Over the past two decades, I have witnessed many families crumble under the weight of cancer—both emotionally and financially. Early detection can save lives, especially in the case of breast and cervical cancers, which claim the lives of many women due to lack of awareness and screening facilities,” Jagga Reddy said.
He expressed optimism that the Congress government’s commitment, under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi and Revanth Reddy, would give the people the confidence to fight cancer and reduce the stigma and fear associated with it.
Calling it a move that aligns with the ideals of public welfare and inclusive healthcare, Jagga Reddy reiterated his gratitude and said the initiative would have a lasting impact on the health and wellbeing of Telangana’s underserved communities.
