Hyderabad, Apr 22 (UNI) Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) Dr Jitender on Tuesday underscored the critical importance of effectively implementing the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) to enhance crime detection and improve criminal tracking mechanisms across the state.
In a video conference held from the DGP Office, Dr Jitender interacted with all District Superintendents of Police and Police Commissioners, reviewing the progress and usage of the CCTNS project across various districts.
Highlighting the system’s advanced tools and digital features, Dr Jitender stressed that senior officers must actively lead by example in utilising the platform.
“The use of tools like E-Summons and E-Sakshya, along with the vast database available through CCTNS, will greatly strengthen policing,” he said.
He emphasised the necessity of integrating technology into everyday police work and urged officials to supervise implementation at all levels.
“Only when field-level staff actively engage with CCTNS can we set a new standard in effective policing,” he noted.
The DGP also pointed out that the Telangana Police’s widespread deployment of computer systems and connectivity under the Inter-Operable Criminal Justice System (ICJS) has placed the state among the national leaders in CCTNS infrastructure.
Further, Dr Jitender mentioned that the evaluation and recognition of the best-performing police stations is now being conducted using CCTNS data, making effective usage all the more important.
Senior police officers, including Additional Director General of Police (Technical Services) V V Srinivasa Rao and Additional Director General of Police (Law & Order) Sri Mahesh M Bhagwat, along with DCPs (L&O), participated in the session.
Dr Jitender reiterated the state police's commitment to technological excellence, urging every officer to contribute towards making Telangana’s policing smarter, more transparent, and highly responsive, a police statement said.
