Karnataka BJP slams Siddaramaiah's 'Halal budget'

Bengaluru, Mar 7 (UNI) Karnataka BJP on Friday strongly criticised Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s budget, terming it a "halal budget" and accusing the Congress-led government of indulging in "appeasement politics at its peak" by allocating significant funds for Muslim welfare.
In a social media post, the Karnataka BJP handle said, "Scam CM Siddaramaiah in Karnataka presents a Hallal budget – appeasement at its peak. Reservation for Muslims in government contracts, Rs 50,000 assistance for Muslim simple marriages, Rs 150 crore for infrastructure development of Waqf properties and graveyards, Rs 50 lakh for Muslim cultural programmes."
"A new ITI college to be set up in Muslim-dominated areas, 50% fee concession for Muslim students under KEA, a residential PU college for Muslim girls in Ullal town, an increase in national and foreign scholarships for Muslim students, expansion of Bengaluru’s Haj Bhavan with additional buildings, and self-defence training for Muslim girl students. What about SCs, STs, and OBCs? Absolutely nothing," the party noted.
