TPCC leader Jaggareddy extends aid to cancer patient in Sadashivapet

Medak (Telangana), Apr 22 (UNI) In a compassionate gesture, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Working President T Jaggareddy on Tuesday extended financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh to a cancer-stricken woman from Sadashivapet in Medak district.
Jaggareddy visited the residence of the victim, Amani, who has been battling cancer while raising two daughters alone after the demise of her husband.
Amani tearfully shared that she had already borrowed Rs 7 lakh for her ongoing treatment and was pushed to the brink of despair, contemplating suicide. She said she is holding on only for the sake of her children.
Moved by her plight, Jaggareddy immediately sanctioned Rs 10 lakh to help ease her burden. He acknowledged the initiative of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy in ensuring timely cancer screenings, calling it a commendable step.
Addressing the media, Jaggareddy stated, “I usually do not publicise when I help someone, but I brought this issue to public attention so that more people become aware and motivated to support such causes.” He emphasised the immense challenges faced by poor families in accessing cancer treatment due to financial constraints.
Jaggareddy appealed to donors and philanthropic organisations to step forward and support underprivileged cancer patients like Amani. He also assured that the ground realities and hardships faced by such patients would be conveyed to CM Revanth Reddy for further support and systemic action.
The gesture has drawn praise from the public, highlighting the dire need for financial and emotional support systems for low-income families battling serious illnesses.
