Hyderabad, Mar 10 (UNI) Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K T Rama Rao (KTR) launched a sharp attack on Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, accusing him of acting as a covert agent for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and failing to address key state issues, including Backward Class (BC) reservations.
Speaking at the BRSLP office, here on Monday, KTR claimed that Revanth Reddy's actions over the past 15 months indicate a hidden BJP alliance, referencing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s remarks about BJP agents within his party.
He also questioned Revanth’s recent private meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, demanding transparency on what was discussed and how it benefited Telangana.
On the issue of BC reservations, KTR challenged Revanth to prove his commitment by launching an indefinite hunger strike in Delhi to demand a 42 per cent BC quota. He accused both Congress and BJP of using BCs as a vote bank while avoiding constitutional amendments to enhance reservations.
KTR also criticised the Congress government’s economic policies, alleging that industries were shifting to Andhra Pradesh due to poor governance. He defended the Kaleshwaram project and dismissed the government’s expected attempts to revive past controversies like the Formula E event to distract from budget failures.
Addressing the recent MLC elections, KTR downplayed their impact, stating that graduates rejected Congress’s job creation claims. He praised the BRS for nominating BC leader Dasoju Sravan as an MLC, reinforcing the party’s commitment to social empowerment.
KTR confirmed that BRS Chief K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) would attend the upcoming Assembly session, asserting that the party would continue to fight for Telangana’s interests both inside and outside the legislature.
