Gold Smuggling: Cong defends CID exit, BJP cries coverup

Bengaluru, Mar 13 (UNI) The Karnataka government’s decision to withdraw the CID probe into the Ranya Rao gold smuggling case has triggered a political tussle, with the ruling Congress defending its move as an administrative prerogative while the opposition BJP alleges an attempt to shield influential figures.

State Minister Priyank Kharge justified the withdrawal, asserting that the government had acted independently and not under any pressure.
