Hyderabad, Mar 12 (UNI) Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K T Rama Rao (KTR) strongly criticised Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma’s budget speech, describing it as a “Congress workers’ press meet” rather than a dignified address.
Talking to the media at the assembly premises, KTR accused the ruling Congress government, led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, of scripting the speech with “blatant lies and half-truths” to mask what he called 15 months of “failed governance.” He expressed disappointment that the address omitted key issues like Congress’s unfulfilled promises and ongoing crises in agriculture and irrigation.
Highlighting the recent protest by contractors demanding clearance of pending bills, KTR accused the Congress government of corruption, claiming they were being pressured to pay a 20 percent commission. He criticised the state's handling of the Medigadda Barrage issue, blaming the government's negligence for extensive crop damage and hardship faced by farmers.
