Maha: FIR against dummy candidate for appearing in HSC exam

Mumbai, Feb 18 (UNI) In a first case of cheating during the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE), a dummy candidate was caught appearing for Physics exam at a centre in Nalasopara town of neighbouring Palghar district during the day following which an FIR (first information report) was filed with local Pelhar police station, an official said here on Tuesday.
Chairman of Mumbai division of the board Rajendra Ahire said that the issue came to light during a surprise visit of anti-copying flying squads of the board at the Om Sai Junior College in Nalasopara.
“Flying squads select random exam centres to pay visits. During one such visit on Monday, flying-squad members spotted a dummy candidate appearing for Physics paper held in the morning session. It was detected during an impromptu hall-ticket verification by the members of the flying-squad,” Ahire added.
