Accused in New India Cooperative Bank scam case arrested, remanded to PC

Mumbai Mar 16 (UNI) The Economic Offences Wing of the Mumbai Police on Sunday arrested Kapil Dedhia, who was wanted in the Rs 122-crore New India Cooperative Bank misappropriation case, from Vadodara in Gujrat
Dedhia is the fifth accused to be arrested in the case., in connection with the embezzlement of Rs 122 crore from the safe of New India Cooperative Bank.
Dedhia is a civil contractor by profession. He was on the run for the past three weeks. EOW’s team was trying to locate him desperately and even visited multiple places in Kutch (Gujarat) and Jaipur (Rajasthan), but in vain.
He was later produced in the court which sent him to police custody, officials said.
On February 15 Mumbai police had registered a Rs 122 crore fraud case against the top officials of the city-based New India Cooperative Bank, two days after the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) imposed restrictions on the bank over alleged financial irregularities. UNI AAA SSP
